Watch

A watch is a timepiece that is made to be worn on a person. It is usually a wristwatch, worn on the wrist with a strap or bracelet. In addition to the time, modern watches often display the day, date, month and year, and electronic watches may have many other functions.
Most inexpensive and medium-priced watches used mainly for timekeeping are electronic watches with quartz movements. Expensive, collectible watches valued more for their workmanship and aesthetic appeal than for simple timekeeping, often have purely mechanical movements and are powered by springs, even though mechanical movements are less accurate than more affordable quartz movements.
Before the inexpensive miniaturization that became possible in the 20th century, most watches were pocket watches, which often had covers and were carried in a pocket and attached to a watch chain or watch fob. Watches evolved in the 1600s from spring powered clocks, which appeared in the 1400s.

Inspired by Swarovski’s expertise in crystal and Signity’s brilliance in gems, the Luna Watch is made of crystal, stainless steel and a Spessartite Garnet. To tell time just touch the two contact points and time seems to magically float inside the crystal.

Simplistic in its function yet aesthetically complex therefore this is a fashion watch. You can expect to see it in a range of colors with coordinated Signity gems.

Sand Time Watch

If you have always fancied having a sand clock on your wrist, the Sand Time Watch is the answer to your desire. Designed by Pavel Balykin, winner of the prestigious red dot design award, this watch uses modern LED display technology to display time using an ancient time counting technique. In the screensaver mode, the watch works like a conventional sand clock with the display showing the "electronic sand" falling from the top screen to the bottom. The rate of fall is set at a default of one minute but can be changed by the user. For those not too keen to have this sand clock display at all times, there is the modern digit mode that shows the hour and minute information as digits in the top and bottom screens respectively.

The watch bracelet is made out of rubber while the case is produced of plastic with a choice of multiple colors. The only bad news is that this is just a concept as of now, but when it does turn up in the market, expect it to sell pretty quickly.

Making Your Own Clock

The Meaning of Time is a brilliant clock concept perfect for all those crafty people out there. It supplies the mechanism to keep time, you supply the hour and minute hands.

You can use just about anything as long as it fits thru the holes. I myself am partial to a barrel of monkeys. Perhaps a picture string of ex-lovers or even more sinister ants trapped inside a glass tube.
